Farm Aid recent announced that it has distributed more than $570,000 in grants to family farm and rural service organizations across 36 states and the District of Columbia.
Southern Adirondack Bureau Chief Lucas Willard recently spoke with Farm Aid’s Jennifer Fahy about the money raised for family farmers in a year that included the annual concert hosted at Saratoga Performing Arts Center.
Farm Aid has had a longstanding mission: keep family farms in operation. The mega concert event is being set up today at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and organizers are working to connect local vendors with local farms to feed the thousands who will attend this weekend’s festival.
On June 14 Farm Aid announced that its annual benefit concert will, for the first time, be held at Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Today the concert lineup was announced: artists slated to perform include Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews. Additional artists include Jack Johnson, Amos Lee, Kacey Musgraves, and Toad the Wet Sprocket.
