  The U.S. Attorney's office says more than $9.6 million in assets seized in an international internet gambling takedown is being distributed to law enforcement agencies in New York and Florida as well as the federal government. 

The attorney representing Republican U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm says he's not surprised his client is facing federal criminal charges.

Attorney William McGinley says Friday that federal prosecutors intend to charge his client after more than two years of investigation plagued by "malicious leaks, violations of grand jury secrecy, and strong-arm tactics."

New York State Assembly

A state assemblyman from Queens says the FBI has raided his home, hotel and offices in an investigation of his daily expense claims.

Democrat William Scarborough says representatives from Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office and the FBI raided his hotel room at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.  He says FBI agents left his office Wednesday with boxes marked evidence. He says they took his cell phone, calendars and "just about everything."

The Legislature has weathered a series of criminal and sexual harassment scandals in recent years.

Police searching apartment in Boston suburb

A television station is reporting that police are searching an apartment in a Boston suburb, and authorities confirm the search is part of the investigation into the explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

WBZ-TV reports that police are searching the apartment in Revere. Massachusetts State Police confirmed that a search warrant was served Monday night but provided no further details.

The FBI is leading the investigation into the explosions, which killed three people and injured more than 140 others.
