Northampton Activist Part Of Gaza Delegation

A peace activist from Northampton, Massachusetts is part of a delegation of 100 women who are traveling to Gaza for International Women’s Day on March 8th.   Paki Wieland was just released from a jail in New York. She was among a group of a dozen people convicted of disorderly conduct as a result of a protest outside the Hancock Air National Guard Base.    WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Wieland about the air base protest and the trip to Gaza.

Middle East Unrest Catches Attention of Hudson Valley Law Enforcement

  Rocket attacks by militant Palestinian group Hamas in Gaza on Israel have prompted area police agencies to keep an extra sharp eye out.

Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois wanted to be sure the unrest in the Middle East doesn’t spill over to the Mid-Hudson Valley.
