New York's graduation rate increased slightly to 78.1 percent last year but remained below the national rate of 82 percent.

On Thursday, May 23, representatives from the New York State Assembly and the New York State Department of Education joined dozens of school superintendents and agency officials at Questar III BOCES to announce a new partnership to support students, families and young adults in the Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene Counties.

According to new data, 4-year high school graduation rates in Massachusetts are on the increase, while the dropout rate is on the decline.

State officials recently announced that the 4-year graduation rate has improved in the Bay State for the sixth year in a row. JC Considine, a spokesman for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, said that the statewide dropout rate also decreased to 2.5% in the last school year.
