Elizabeth Holtzman - Investigate possible Bush Era crimes before it's too late

A former New York congresswoman says time is running out, and an investigation should be made into possible war crimes by the Bush administration before the statute of limitations expires next year.

Elizabeth Holtzman, a Democrat, who once sought her party’s nomination for the U.S. Senate, tells WAMC's Brian Shields that the Justice Department should look into a possible violation of federal law.

Car bomb in Iraq kills 20 Shiite pilgrims

BAGHDAD (AP) -- A car bomb explosion tore through a crowd of Shiite pilgrims returning home Thursday from a religious commemoration, killing at least 20 and reinforcing fears of renewed sectarian violence, according to Iraqi officials.

The blast erupted late in the afternoon in the town of Musayyib, about 60 kilometers (40 miles) south of the Iraqi capital. It targeted worshippers returning from the Shiite holy city of Karbala following the climax of the religious commemoration known as Arbaeen.
