A second round of federal Sandy recovery aid is coming to New York City and New York state.

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Shaun Donovan announced the funding on Monday.

Today is the anniversary of the superstorm.

Donovan said New York state will be getting nearly $2.1 billion. New York City will get over $1.3 billion in Community Development Block Grants.

That's in addition to federal money that was allocated earlier this year.

Donovan was joined by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Sen. Charles Schumer, and Reps. Nydia Velazquez and Jerrold Nadler.

After voting to avoid going over the fiscal cliff, House of Representative lawmakers from New York expressed outrage that there was no move to vote on a Hurricane Sandy relief supplemental appropriations bill before Congress adjourns tomorrow. On Friday, the U.S Senate passed a Sandy disaster relief package, and many congressional representatives said the majority support was also there to pass a bill in the House. After much criticism and pressure today, one House member says there is now a vote scheduled, one for the end of the week.
