So far, six Democrats are running in hopes of challenging second-term Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik in New York’s 21st district Congressional race.  Among them is Emily Martz of Saranac Lake.  A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, she began her career in financial services working at Prudential Insurance, Putnam Investments and The Hartford.  She then went on to teach at the University of Delaware and Paul Smith’s College.  She resigned her position at the Adirondack North Country Association this summer to run for Congress.  She says she’s running because she cares about  the people of the district.

The municipal and environmental attorney feels the region has gotten the “short end of the stick” for far too long.

The number of Democrats challenging second-term Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York’s 21st district increased this week when Ronald Kim, a Queensbury and Saratoga Springs attorney, entered the race.  Kim, a former elected official and mayoral candidate in Saratoga Springs, says he is running because he feels the incumbent’s continued refusal to meet with constituents on health care issues is disqualifying.

The number of candidates challenging second-term Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York’s 21st district continues to grow.  Five Democrats and one Republican are in the race. The Green Party is expected to announce candidates and a Libertarian has also expressed interest in the seat.  St. Lawrence County business consultant Tedra Cobb is among the announced Democrats.  She says she decided to run after tracking recent Congressional action on health care.

The field of Democrats running to unseat Congresswoman Elise Stefanik of New York’s 21st district in 2018 expanded to five this week. The Republican incumbent also faces a challenger within her own party.

A number of Democrats are lining up to challenge northern New York’s second-term Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.  One of the latest to enter the race for the 21st district seat is businesswoman Katie Wilson from the Adirondack village of Keene.  She says her campaign is about the future of the people and children across the district.
