Cast members from the 1978 classic National Lampoon’s Animal House are meeting for a reunion at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center in Great Barrington Saturday. There’s also a Q-and-A after the screening.

  In 2015, Ladysmith Black Mambazo – led by founder and leader Joseph Shabalala – celebrates over fifty years of joyous and uplifting music. Within this music are the intricate rhythms and harmonies of their native South African musical traditions. In those years, the a cappella vocal group has created a musical and spiritual spirit that has touched a worldwide audience. Their musical efforts over the past five decades have garnered praise and accolades from a wide body of people, organizations, and countries.

    Neshama Carlebach, leading superstar in Jewish Entertainment, continues the legacy established by her father Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. His deep spirituality and love of all humanity filled every song he wrote and touched every person he encountered as he changed the face of Jewish music.

Like her father, Neshama's talent and charisma captivate and endear her to people of all ages and backgrounds as she performs and teaches in cities worldwide. With her incredible band and in collaboration with The Glory to God Singers, she continues to both deeply move and entertain as she sings her father's incomparable melodies and inspiring original compositions.

She will perform on November 8th at The Mahaiwe in Great Barrington, MA in a fundraising concert for The Rimon Resource Center for Jewish Spirituality.

The internationally acclaimed and Grammy Award-winning Klezmatics have been performing around the world since their first appearance in New York in 1986. Blending instrumental and vocal virtuosity and experimentation with theatricality firmly rooted in klezmer and Yiddish tradition, the Klezmatics brought the revival of klezmer into the rock era.

This Saturday, November 16 at 8 PM The Klezmatics will perform at The Mahaiwe in Great Barrington, MA, presented by The Yiddish Book Center. Lorin Sklamberg performs lead vocals, accordion, guitar, and piano in The Klezmatics.

    Emmy and Golden Globe award winner (and Tony nominee), Tony Shalhoub will participate in the Berkshire Playwrights Lab’s Sixth Annual Gala Celebration at The Mahaiwe in Great Barrington, MA on June 7th. They will present staged readings of new short plays by a roster of playwrights including Joe Cacaci, Richard Dresser, Mark Malone, Maddy Meyers and Anna Ziegler.

The short film, Food for Thought, written and directed by Joe Cacaci and starring Minnie Driver, Meeghan Holoway, and Tony Shaloub will screen at BIFF this Thursday.

    In celebration of its 90th Anniversary, Congregation Ahavath Sholom in Great Barrington, MA is sponsoring The National Yiddish Theatre-Folksbiene's production of Ghetto Tango at The Mahaiwe this Sunday, May 19th.

    This Saturday, April 13th - acclaimed jazz pianist Brad Mehldau and singer/mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile will perform as a due at The Mahaiwe in Great Barrington, MA. It’ll be a rare and special evening with two of America's most groundbreaking young musicians.

Chris Thile began playing mandolin when he was 5 years old - a very quick synopsis of his musical life from then to now includes playing with Grammy award winning trio, Nickel Creek, releasing several solo albums, co-founding the progressive bluegrass quintet, Punch Brothers, and recording The Goat Rodeo Sessions with Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, and Edgar Meyer.

The 2012 MacArthur Genius join us to talk about collaborating with Brad Mehldau, sticking with the mandolin, and recording with The Goat Rodeo Sessions.

    David Sedaris' new book, Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls, will be released by Little Brown on April 23rd.

New York Times-bestselling author and illustrator Brian Selznick will talk about his Caldecott Award-winning book, The Invention of Hugo Cabret and how it became Martin Scorsese's 2011 Oscar-winning film Hugo on Sunday at The Mahaiwe Theatre in Great Barrington.

Following a screening of the film, Selznick will participate in a Q & A with his Scholastic editor, Berkshire resident Tracy Mack, and then sign books.
