Veteran soccer player David Beckham says he will retire from professional the end of the season. The 38-year-old Englishman recently won a league title in a fourth country with a team in Paris and has two games left this season with the French club. He also played for Manchester United, Real Madrid and the Los Angeles Galaxy, winning titles with all three clubs.

Sir Alex Ferguson is on the very short list of most successful coaches and managers in sports history, and he's about to step down.
The Manchester United manager says he will retire at the end of the Premier League season. Ferguson made the announcement a few weeks after capturing his 13th Premier League title and 38th major trophy since taking over United in 1986.
Everton manager David Moyes is the front-runner to take over for the 71-year-old Ferguson.

In the NBA playoffs, the Knicks beat the Pacers 105-79 Tuesday night to even the Eastern Conference semifinals at one game. Carmelo Anthony scored 32 points. Iman Shumpert added 15 points, including a sensational follow dunk in the first half. Game 3 is Saturday at Indianapolis. Elsewhere, the Grizzlies earned a 99-93 win at Oklahoma City. Thunder forward Kevin Durant contributed 36 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.
In other NBA news, Phil Jackson has informed the Brooklyn Nets he will not be their new coach.
In the NBA, the Chicago Bulls beat the Brooklyn Nets 90-82 on Monday night to even their first-round series at one game apiece. Carlos Boozer had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Brook Lopez scored 21 points for the Nets.
Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Clippers are heading to Memphis after grabbing a two-games-to-none lead in the NBA's Western Conference quarterfinals. Chris Paul hit a floater with 0.1 seconds left to give the Clippers a 93-91 victory over the Grizzlies. Blake Griffin finished with 21 points.
