Advocates are asking Vermont lawmakers to postpone implementing a revised policing policy that they say could make immigrants less likely to seek police in emergencies.

Vermont immigrant advocates say they're concerned a pending change to a state policy on how police work with immigrants could make it less likely immigrants will seek out police in emergencies. But Republican Governor Phil Scott said Thursday he doesn't believe the state is in danger of losing funding.
