A crime bill that is intended to keep habitual criminals off the streets is heading to the desk of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.  WAMC”s Paul Tuthill reports.

A request from Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick to local officials to fix potholes near his Berkshire home before a visit from First Lady Michelle Obama has created a media buzz. WAMC’s Berkshire Bureau Chief reports that the local officials are left scratching their heads at the attention.

A new report from a group that supports siting a new fighter jet at the Burlington International Airport says property values will not be hurt by the increased noise. The report is out at the same time opponents of the aircraft plan to protest a political fundraiser.

The U.S. Attorney's office in Vermont says Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center will pay more than $550,000 to settle allegations it improperly billed various federal health programs.

Federal health programs such as Medicare and Medicaid recovered over $500,000. More than $21,000 will go to the state of Vermont and more than $8,000 will go to the state of New Hampshire.
