Massachusetts Court Recognizes Vermont Civil Unions

The highest court in Massachusetts has found that civil unions for gay couples in Vermont should be treated as the equivalent of marriage in Massachusetts.

The Supreme Judicial Court ruled Thursday that a couple who enters into a civil union in Vermont must dissolve that union before either can get married in Massachusetts.

Vermont Residents Promote Tourism Via Twitter

Copying Sweden, Vermont's tourism department has launched a new social media campaign that relies on its residents to tweet about why Vermont is a great place live, work and visit.

Deputy Tourism and Marketing Commissioner Steve Cook says it's a cool way to create a user-generated review of the state.

The first tweeter, Ken Millman, who lives in Alburgh and works in Burlington, has tweeted about fishing in Lake Champlain, his commute and visiting his mother in Quebec.
