EPA New England has new boss

New England – Last week, President Obama selected Curt Spalding as the new Administrator for the Environmental Protection Agency's Region One. Region One encompasses Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. Spalding started on Friday and our Berkshire Bureau Chief Charlie Deitz had a chance to speak with him on his first day on the job

Mental Health Cuts from State, One Berkshire Program Stems the Tide

Berkshire County – Lead: Mental Health programs in Massachusetts have taken some of the hardest hits as the state works out its budget deficit. In the last year over 80 million dollars got pulled from state mental health providers. Mass Filmmakers Want Better Tax Credits

Berkshire County – Advocates for the film industry in Berkshire County want the state to increase the film tax credit as a way to boost the area's appeal to producers and directors looking for their next site.
