A New York state Senator who did not run for re-election, has unveiled the details of his private sector plans.

A tight congressional race in the Hudson Valley has both sides chasing every possible vote. And robocalls going out for the incumbent include those from an unlikely supporter.

Robocalls from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ask voters in the 18th congressional district to vote for Democratic incumbent Sean Patrick Maloney. Robocalls for Maloney have also gone out from this elected official.

Renovations are complete for a disabled veteran’s house in Dutchess County. The work of a state senator and national program made it possible and there will be a ceremony later Saturday morning. Republican state Senator Greg Ball and Purple Heart Homes will host a welcome-home ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. for Private Dan Flanigan’s renovated house in Pawling.

The ceremony will kick off with a parade from the Pawling IGA supermarket to Flanigan’s 101 year-old home. Flanigan, a Vietnam veteran, inherited his parent’s Pawling home in 1999, which was in disrepair.

NYS Senator Greg Ball Will Not Seek Re-Election

New York State Republican Senator Greg Ball has announced he will not seek re-election to his Hudson Valley seat. He also says he will not run for any other office.

Senator Greg Ball’s announcement that he will not seek re-election came via video on YouTube Friday morning.

“But at this time in my life, it’s time now to return back to the private sector, and maybe, hopefully, even find some time to raise a family,” says Ball.

A Republican New York state senator is working to ensure that his neighboring district returns to GOP hands in November.

Republican Greg Ball is the state Senate Republican Committee co-chairman, and is hosting a series of forums aimed at unseating the Democratic senator in the 41st District – freshman Terry Gipson. He held the first forum Wednesday night in Putnam County.

A New York State assemblyman is calling on Governor Andrew Cuomo to launch an independent investigation into allegations that the Putnam County district attorney has remained involved in a case from which he recused himself.

They Make a Plea for More Mandate Relief

More than a dozen, local elected officials stood with New York State Senator Greg Ball Thursday, urging state lawmakers to pass a comprehensive mandate relief package. They say without mandate relief beyond what Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed in his 2013-2014 budget, municipalities, and school districts will go broke. They assembled at Yorktown Town Hall in Westchester. Republican Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino was there.
