Pittsfield Police are investigating what could be the western Massachusetts city’s first homicide this year. 

A 27-year-old man who left an anti-Semitic message on the windshield of a parked car in Pittsfield has been identified by police using video surveillance.

Local authorities say that Joshua Tagge used a city parking kiosk to print a receipt that read "Kill the Jew" on February 27th..

Tagge faces charges of threatening to commit a crime and committing a civil rights violation after admitting to the offense on March 7th.

A Pittsfield man has been charged in the murder of his wife, who is believed to have been strangled. Police arrested 38-year-old Timothy Gill Monday afternoon and charged him with murder, according to the Berkshire District Attorney’s office.
