On July 6th, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the city of Plattsburgh was one of ten cities across the state to win a $10 million downtown revitalization grant.  At the time the Governor said the plan reflects  “…a sense of vibrancy and energy” in the city. But the Democrat challenging Plattsburgh’s incumbent Mayor says the downtown plan needs revisions.

The city of Plattsburgh has submitted its plan to obtain $10 million in a statewide competition for downtown revitalization funds.

Governor Andrew Cuomo yesterday unveiled more than $700 million in economic and community development funding to support a diverse array of projects throughout New York. 

ALBANY – Business leaders in the Hudson Valley, members of the governor’s Regional Economic Development Council, Wednesday mapped out their plans for the third year of program.

Co-chairman Dennis Murray, president of Marist College in Poughkeepsie, said the council plans on capitalizing on the successes of the first two years of the grant program to promote business, economic development growth and jobs.

Nearly one million dollars in economic development grants were awarded to organizations across Massachusetts designed to assist in outreach and business expansion. WAMC’s Berkshire Bureau Chief Lucas Willard reports…

The Governor is traveling the state to assess the progress being made by each of the ten Regional Economic Development Councils. Both Governor Andrew Cuomo and Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy were in Plattsburgh Wednesday to assess the programs and progress of the North Country’s Council.
