ADA-Accessible Trail Opens At Black Rock Forest

A nature trail opened Friday in the Hudson Highlands in Orange County that provides access for wheelchairs, walkers and strollers. The pathway at Black Rock Forest in Cornwall takes visitors to an overlook that provides 50 mile views up the Hudson Valley.

The U.S. Interior Secretary made her first official trip to the Hudson Valley Monday, to kick off the National Park Service’s centennial week and to participate in the unveiling of signs for a national historic trail.

On Earth Day Eve, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that 88 revitalization and rehabilitation projects, totaling $71.7 million, will be completed at 60 state parks and historic sites across New York this year. The state Commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation was in the Hudson Valley to talk about some local projects today.

Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Commissioner Rose Harvey was at Bear Mountain State Park Tuesday to highlight 18 projects in the Mid-Hudson region that are on the receiving end of $13.4 million.

Popular Upstate NY Concert Venue Getting Upgrades

The main gateway to a popular upstate New York concert venue inside a state park is getting a long-overdue makeover.

Work has begun on a $900,000 project to improve the main parking lot off the Route 50 entrance to Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Spa State Park.
