In college basketball, Sam Rowley scored 17 points to help UAlbany beat America East Conference league-leading Stony Brook 77-67 Wednesday night at SEFCU Arena. Peter Hooley and DJ Evans chipped in with 11 each.
The win came six days after the Danes dropped a road game at New Hampshire, which only had three wins at the time.
Bentley had a 95-87 win over the College of Saint Rose.
Top-ranked Arizona had a 60-57 victory over Stanford for their school-record 21st straight win.
In golf, Adam Scott holed a 12-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to beat Angel Cabrera and win the Masters. Scott and Cabrera birdied the final hole of regulation and parred the first sudden-death hole. Cabrera almost pulled out his third Major title, but his birdie try on the first extra hole just missed the cup. It’s the first time an Australian has won the Masters.
