Mass. governor to tour areas hard hit by blizzard

All lanes of LIE reopened

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (AP) — All lanes of the Long Island Expressway are now open.

Authorities say both the eastbound and westbound lanes have reopened in time for the Monday morning commute.

The ramps off the expressway and other major Long Island roadways are still snow covered.

A steady light rain was falling early Monday.

Snow, wintry mix expected in N. new England

The NWS is forecasting snow, rain, and ice for New York's North Country and Northern New England starting at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — As residents in northern New England dig out of the big snowstorm, they're anticipating headaches from the next storm, which is expected to bring a combination of snow and freezing rain.

The National Weather Service says more snow was expected Monday morning. It will gradually change to sleet, freezing rain and rain.

Mass. urges caution on 1st work day since blizzard

BOSTON (AP) — Commuters heading back to work in Massachusetts for the first time since the blizzard are being urged to use caution and leave extra time.

Many secondary roads still have a thick coating of snow, and high snow banks that block sight lines at intersections and near highway ramps make turning and merging hazardous.

New York Governor Cuomo sends hundreds of plows to Long Island

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says hundreds of plows from across the state were dispatched to Long Island to clear roads clogged up by a massive snowfall.

The governor says it's one of the largest mobilizations after a winter blizzard in the state's history.

Hundreds of motorists were stranded Saturday on the Long Island Expressway and other parts of Suffolk County. Even emergency equipment couldn't reach them.
