CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — As residents in northern New England dig out of the big snowstorm, they're anticipating headaches from the next storm, which is expected to bring a combination of snow and freezing rain.

BOSTON (AP) — Commuters heading back to work in Massachusetts for the first time since the blizzard are being urged to use caution and leave extra time.

Many secondary roads still have a thick coating of snow, and high snow banks that block sight lines at intersections and near highway ramps make turning and merging hazardous.

Office of Governor Andrew Cuomo

NEW YORK (AP) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says hundreds of plows from across the state were dispatched to Long Island to clear roads clogged up by a massive snowfall.

The governor says it's one of the largest mobilizations after a winter blizzard in the state's history.

Hundreds of motorists were stranded Saturday on the Long Island Expressway and other parts of Suffolk County. Even emergency equipment couldn't reach them.

United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — Off-site power has been restored to the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, two days after being knocked out by the blizzard.

BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick is lifting a ban on driving on Massachusetts roads as of 4 p.m.

The driving ban that went into effect at 4 p.m. Friday because of the massive snowstorm is lifted immediately for Nantucket County and communities west of Interstate 91. It's lifted for everyone else as of 4 p.m. Saturday.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Two deaths in upstate New York are being attributed to the storm.

State police say a 23-year-old man died when the tractor he was using to plow his driveway overturned in Columbia County Friday evening. And a 74-year-old man died when a car slid and hit him as he walked on a Poughkeepsie road.

The National Weather Service reported snowfall totals of 10-12 inches in the mid-Hudson Valley and Adirondacks; 8 inches at Buffalo; 12 inches at Rochester; 6.5 inches in suburban Albany; and 9 inches in Syracuse.

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut's governor has ordered all roads closed until further notice, expanding a limited travel ban issued Friday afternoon, as officials deal with a storm that dumped more than 2 feet of snow on the state.

Governor Dan Malloy said this morning that stalled or abandoned vehicles will only slow the recovery process.
