The Pittsburgh Penguins have taken a three-games-to-two lead in the Stanley Cup finals as they try to become the NHL's first repeat champions since the 1998 Red Wings. Matt Murray turned back 24 shots and the Penguins scored three times in each of the first two periods for a 6-0 rout of the visiting Nashville Predators. The offensive uprising came after the Pens were held to just two goals while dropping the previous two games in Nashville.

The Stanley Cup finals start tonight. The San Jose Sharks will see the Pittsburgh Penguins at 8 p.m. for Game 1.

Over on the ice, The Rangers avoided a sweep in the Stanley Cup finals when they topped the Kings 2-1. Los Angeles still leads the series 3-1.

Over on the ice, Los Angeles blanked the Rangers 3-0 in the Stanley Cup finals, giving the Kings a 3-0 series lead. Los Angeles will look to complete a sweep Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

In Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals, Los Angeles skated past the Rangers 3-2 in overtime. Game 2 is Saturday at the Staples Center where the Kings will host.

Hawks Win Stanley Cup In Stunning Third Finish

It appeared that the Boston Bruins were going to force a Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Bruins held a 2-1 edge over the Chicago Blackhawks before Bryan Bickell tied it up with 1:16 to go in the third period. Less than 17 seconds after that Dave Bolland scored and the Blackhawks won their fifth Stanley Cup 3-2 over the Bruins. Patrick Kane came away with the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs. Kane scored nine goals and 19 points in 23 games.

Celtics To Send Doc Rivers To Clippers

In the NBA Doc Rivers is set to be the next coach of the Los Angeles Clippers. Rivers has three years and $21 million left on his Boston contract and the deal would bring Boston a first-round draft pick in 2015.

Meanwhile, State police officers and dogs searched the home of Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez for more than 3½ hours on Saturday as they continued to investigate the killing of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd.
