Pointing to the House’s record during the Bush administration, Massachusetts Democratic Congressman Richard Neal, the dean of the state delegation, says he believes Republican opposition to President Obama’s plan for possible military strikes against Syria is based on political calculations. Neal spoke on WAMC’s Congressional Corner program.
Syria is now saying it will put its chemical weapons under international control as a diplomatic solution to avoid a U.S. strike. But the question of military action in retribution for an alleged chemical weapons attack that killed thousands in Syria last month still looms as Congress resumes session.
