Michael Cristofer and Judd Hirsch

Judd Hirsch will star in the premiere of The Whore and Mr. Moore at the Dorset Theatre Festival in Vermont. The show opens tomorrow. Michael Cristofer, who won the Pulitzer and a Tony Award for his 1977 play, The Shadow Box, wrote the play. We talk with both Hirsch and Cristofer about their careers and The Whore and Mr. Moore.

Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival 2012

The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival began in 1987 and makes its home under a specially designed tent theater on the grounds of the historic Boscobel House & Gardens in Garrison, New York. The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival is dedicated to producing the plays of Shakespeare with an economy of style that focuses energy and resources on script, actors and audience. This season they present Love’s Labour’s Lost, Romeo and Juliet, and The 39 Steps.

"Edith" - Berkshire Theatre Group

The Berkshire Theatre Group is staging the world premiere of Kelly Masterson's, Edith – a play about first lady, Edith Wilson. The show run July 31-Aug. 11. Tony nominee, Jane Atkinson, will star in the title role as Edith Bolling Wilson, with Jack Gilpin as President Woodrow Wilson. Bard SummerScape 2012 - "The King In Spite of Himself"

Bard SummerScape's production of Emmanuel Chabrier's rarely produced opera, The King in Spite of Himself (Le Roi Malgré Lui) opens tonight in the Sosnoff Theater at the Richard B. Fisher Center. We learn more about the opera from accomplished director, Thaddeus Strassberger, and world-class Soprano, Nathalie Paulin.
