NYS DOH Confirms Powassan Virus Case In Dutchess

The New York state Department of Health has confirmed a case of Powasssan virus in Dutchess County. The rare tick-borne disease is the county’s first case this year.

Lyme Disease Info Bill Passes NYS Senate

A bill on a Lyme disease information campaign from a New York state lawmaker from the Hudson Valley, has passed the Senate.

Two institutions in the Hudson Valley have received a $5 million grant for a large-scale study aimed at reducing tick populations and Lyme disease. The five-year project is the first to explore Lyme disease management for entire communities.
