A new center is being formed in Vermont to study the sound impact industrial wind turbines have on the surrounding area.  But an advocacy group claims such studies would be biased, pointing to the sponsoring group’s anti-wind stance.

World leaders are discussing the climate in Paris, but it’s very much on the minds of activists closer to home. Members of the Energy Independent Vermont Coalition delivered to the Statehouse what they claim were more than 25-thousand postcards calling for the creation of a carbon tax and Energy Independence fund in Vermont.

Ice cream and cars. Not what you would normally associate with curbing climate change. But this week the Vermont Public Interest Research Group teamed up with Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream to heighten people’s awareness and involvement in climate action for Energy Independence Week.

The Vermont Public Interest Research Group has released its assessment of legislative votes over the past biennium.

The scorecard released by the advocacy group looks at votes on ten issues, including health care reform, clean energy and a fracking moratorium.  Vermont Public Interest Research Group Executive Director Paul Burns says it represents a range of their priority issues over the past two years.
