At the end of March, the Vermont State Colleges System Board of Trustees appointed Patricia Moulton President of Vermont Technical College.  She had been the college’s interim president since September and immediately began her tenure as president when the trustees made the announcement.  Moulton is the first woman to lead the college in its 150-year history.  Moulton previously served in state government, most recently as Secretary of  the Agency of Commerce and Community Development .  She says she felt this was the perfect next step in her career.

The Vermont State Colleges board of trustees is not going to change the name of the system after one of the five institutions became a university.

The Vermont State Colleges Board of Trustees voted Wednesday to appoint Vermont Administration Secretary Jeb Spaulding as the chancellor of the five-college system. Spaulding tells WAMC North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley that he had planned to stay with the Shumlin administration, but the job is an opportunity he cannot pass up.


A committee of the trustees of the Vermont State Colleges is recommending that tuition not be increased for Vermont students at the five schools for the next academic year.
