A debate between Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Republican Rob Astorino and two third-party candidates is likely to be the only opportunity voters have to see the candidates for New York governor interact before Election Day.

The hour-long exchange begins at 8 p.m. and airs on WAMC.  Capital New York reporter Jimmy Vielkind is headed out to Buffalo for the debate. He says listeners should pay attention to how Cuomo reacts to criticism from Astorino.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been endorsed by the state’s largest business lobby for his re- election bid. The Business Council made the announcement Wednesday at the Plug Power energy manufacturing company near Albany.

She also praised Cuomo’s bi-partisan governing style.

Republican Rob Astorino says he won't accept an invitation to a one-on-one public radio debate with Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo that was tentatively set for later this month.
