  The Woodstock Writers Festival is a collection of writers and their readers who meet for the weekend in Woodstock, NY from March 19th - 22nd.

It is the 6th annual event and there are plenty of events and panels. There will be panels on fiction, biography, journalism and a look at the writing of memoir. Among the writers who will be on hand are Abigail Thomas, Jane Smiley, Tom Folsom, Stephen Dobyns, Ann Hood, Gail Godwin and James Howard Kunstler.

Next weekend, the 6th annual Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase returns to the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, New York.

  

  Celebrating 15-years of innovative filmmakers & filmmaking, the Woodstock Film Festival has unveiled its line-up of nearly 150 films, panels, and events, screening Wednesday October 15th through Sunday October 19th, in Woodstock NY, and neighboring towns of Rhinebeck, Saugerties, Kingston and Rosendale.

 

   The Woodstock Comedy Festival is a festival with a mission: Comedy for a Cause. Each year their net profits will be donated to theirr charity partners Polaris Project and Family of Woodstock for the battle against human trafficking and domestic violence.

Their second-annual festival is a three-day event Sept. 19-21 and will feature stand-up comedy, sketch comedy, improv to panels, films and more.

Colin Quinn will headline this year’s festival – performing at The Bearsville Theatre in Woodstock, NY on Saturday, September 20th.

  The Jack DeJohnette Trio will be bringing their creative spirits and incredible sounds to the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, NY on Saturday, August 16 after completing a month-long tour throughout Europe and the U.S.!

In a career that spans five decades and includes collaborations with some of the most iconic figures in modern jazz, NEA and Grammy winner Jack DeJohnette has established an unchallenged reputation as one of the greatest drummers in the history of the genre.

  Maverick Concerts is celebrating its 99th summer of Music in the Woods!

This season will celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Richard Strauss, the last Romantic, with an exploration of his chamber music and of the rich trove of Central European music at the dawn of the 20th century. They will also renew their commitment to American music with new and recent repertoire, from the cutting-edge work of young composers to America’s master of the string quartet, Elliott Carter.

It is the 4th annual event and there are plenty of events and panels. There will be panels on fiction, biography, journalism and a look at the writing of memoir.

  The Paul Green Rock Academy is a performance based, interactive music school, built on a method honed over the past 17 years. They believe that the best way to teach most anything, and especially music, is with a hands on approach. Their entire school is dedicated to getting kids playing music in an as authentic way as possible.

Paul Green, founder of The School of Rock, opened The Paul Green Rock Academy in Woodstock, NY about a year ago. On April 8th and 9th the Paul Green Rock Academy will perform at The Bearsville Theatre with special guest, Jon Anderson – playing the music of Yes.

    

  Performing Arts of Woodstock is a not-for-profit year-round local theater organization presenting new and established plays since 1964. Celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year, PAW is the oldest, continuously running theater organization in the history of Woodstock!

Their production of Eugene O’Neill’s A Moon for the Misbegotten runs through this weekend.
