Buckskin to Bikinis
Featured exhibition showcases constructions by Iroquois/Haudenosaunee artists who employ fabric, leather, fur, plastic and other materials to push the boundaries of style and fashion. The Museum has assembled a broad and illustrative collection of indigenous couture, street wear, wearable art, and accessories by both emerging and established designers. Themes identified as central to these constructions include cultural change and the impacts of colonization and reinterpretation of traditional stories and symbols. Hours:
