NYS Senator Presents Concussion-Reducing Helmets At Football Practice

Courtesy of the office of NYS Senator David Carlucci

Football players at a New York high school are showing up for their first day of practice and receiving new helmets Monday.

The players at Clarkstown High School North are receiving Ridell Revolution Concussion Reduction Technology helmets thanks to $60,000 in bullet-aid funding secured by New York State Senator David Carlucci. Carlucci, an Independent Democrat and graduate of the high school, says administrators at the Clarkstown Central School District requested the funding for the helmets to help reduce the risk of head trauma and brain injuries. The co-captains of the Clarkstown High School North Varsity Football Rams will present their teammates with customized helmets bearing the school's insignia. They also will present Senator Carlucci with a football uniform. Carlucci, school administrators, and parents are gathering at the high school in Rockland County for the announcement and presentation of the helmets.
