Dutchess and Orange Counties on Thursday reported more COVID-related deaths.
Dutchess officials on Thursday confirmed the second death of a county resident relating to COVID-19. They say a 71-year-old male died Wednesday at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh. He was admitted for cardiac arrest and respiratory distress, and tested positive for COVID-19. Dutchess has 190 positive cases of COVID-19, and the numbers are expected to increase as a mobile collection site for COVID-19 testing opened this week at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill. Also on Thursday, Orange County officials reported the second and third COVID-19-related deaths, a woman over the age of 70 and a woman over the age of 90, both with pre-existing conditions. As of Thursday, Orange County had 756 positive cases.
