Thousands of firefighters from across Massachusetts and beyond joined family and friends to pay final respects to a Boston fireman killed in a nine-alarm blaze last week.
Thousands of firefighters lined the streets Wednesday outside St. Patrick’s Church in Watertown Massachusetts where the funeral was held for Edward Walsh. The 43 year old father of three died along with colleague Michael Kennedy, who was 33. The two were trapped by a wind-whipped fire in the basement of a four-story brownstone a week ago. The funeral Mass was attended by Governor Deval Patrick, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh, and Cardinal Sean O-Malley. The funeral for firefighter Kennedy is Thursday in Boston’s West Roxbury neighborhood.
