A University of Vermont student will be honored at the White House on Monday.
UVM freshman Gina Fiorile is among eight individuals chosen by the White House as Champions of Change for Climate Education and Literacy.
Fiorile, from Saranac Lake NY, helped plan the annual Adirondack Youth Climate Summit and the environmental science major brought the concept to Vermont. It’s now a national model for climate change education. “We’re all affected by the changes that will be coming in the future, climate change being one of the greatest issues.”
The White house event Monday afternoon will be live streamed.
