The Massachusetts House may act before the August recess to reverse some of Governor Charlie Baker’s budget vetoes.
House leaders have tentatively scheduled formal sessions on Wednesday and Thursday when there could be votes to override some of the $162 million in vetoes Baker made in the $38 billion state budget.
Democratic Legislative leaders have said their concerned about many of the vetoes, but the Republican governor said the budget debate has been cordial.
" It is fully within their rights to make whatever decisions they believe they need to make based on what we did and that is how it is suppose to work," said Baker. " I'm fine with that."
The governor’s spending vetoes include $38 million earmarked by legislators for projects in their districts.
