Tina Packer is the Founding Artistic Director of Shakespeare & Company. Since the Lenox, Massachusetts theater group was created in 1978, she’s directed all of the Bard’s plays, and taught his work at Columbia University and written multiple books on the famed English playwright. In January, Packer won the Shakespeare Theatre Association’s Douglas N. Cook Lifetime Achievement Award at its annual conference in Prague. She spoke with WAMC about what winning the award means to her.
