A new Siena College poll shows Republican Marc Molinaro closing a gap with Governor Andrew Cuomo, though the Democratic incumbent is still poised to capture a third term.
The poll of likely voters released Sunday shows support for Molinaro, the Dutchess County Executive, at 36 percent compared to Cuomo’s 49 percent.
Last month, polling revealed support for Cuomo at 50 percent to Molinaro’s 28 percent.
Support for Libertarian Larry Sharpe stands at 3 percent. Green Party candidate Howie Hawkins and Independent candidate and former Syracuse mayor Stephanie Miner are each polling at 2 percent.
Seven percent of likely voters were undecided. The poll conducted between October 28th and November 1st has a margin of error of 3.9 percent.
