Governor Andrew Cuomo has issued an executive order to allow all “non-essential” gatherings of up to ten people.
The move comes after a previous order this week allowed similar-sized gatherings for Memorial Day or religious events.
The New York City Liberties Union filed a lawsuit against the previous order, pointing out that it maintained restrictions on protests and other First Amendment-protected activities.
According to the new executive order, social distancing, cleaning, and disinfecting protocols must be maintained.
