A minor earthquake was felt along the Canada-New York border early Monday morning.
The quake was centered one mile north of the Canadian border near the Clinton County village of Churubusco.
The Lamont-Doherty Cooperative Seismographic Network and the US Geological Survey measured the earthquake at 3.3 while Earthquakes Canada measured it at 4.0.
It occurred at 5:38 a.m. and was felt in parts of southern Quebec and Montreal and south to Plattsburgh and Burlington.
Natural Resources Canada Earthquakes’ webpage notes that “There are no reports of damage, and none would be expected.”
