The New York Jets have signed coach Rex Ryan to a contract extension, keeping him with the franchise for at least the next two years. Ryan, who had one year remaining on his contract, was retained by owner Woody Johnson for next season after his job appeared in jeopardy. The Jets finished 8-8 this season. Ryan is 42-38 in the regular season over five years, and 4-2 in the postseason.
