Tennis:

Andy Murray has earned a second Wimbledon championship for Britain in the last three years. The second-seeded Scot disarmed big-serving Milos Raonic 6-4, 7-6, 7-6 for his third major championship. Britain had gone 77 years without a Wimbledon men's champion before Murray's 2013 title.

A ruling on Maria Sharapova's appeal against her two-year doping ban has been postponed until September. That means she's definitively out of the Rio Olympics. The Court of Arbitration for Sport says Sharapova and the International Tennis Federation agreed to defer the decision. Sharapova tested positive for meldonium at the Australian Open in January.

MLB:

In baseball, in the American League, the Yankees beat Cleveland 11-7, Boston blanked Tampa Bay 4-0, Toronto topped Detroit 6-1, Houston edged Oakland 2-1 in 10 innings, Seattle beat Kansas City 8-5, and it was Minnesota over Texas 15-5.

In the National League, Washington slid past the Mets 3-2, Miami won against Cincinnati 7-3, St. Louis bested Pittsburgh 6-5, Philadelphia defeated Colorado 10-3, the Dodgers beat San Diego 3-1, and it was San Francisco over Arizona 4-0.

In interleague play, Atlanta shut out the White Sox 2-0.

Boston Red Sox farm system star Yoan Moncada hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the eighth inning to help the World beat the United States 11-3 in the All-Star Futures Game Sunday. The Red Sox agreed to give Moncada a $31.5 million signing bonus — with a $31.5 million tax imposed by Major League Baseball — in March 2015, the highest bonus ever for an international amateur. Moncada wore eye black in the colors of the Cuban flag for the exhibition of minor league talent in San Diego.

Tonight the Home Run Derby will take place at 8 p.m. on ESPN.

Meanwhile, Chicago White Sox pitcher Jose Quintana has replaced Cleveland's Danny Salazar on the AL All-Star roster for Tuesday's game in San Diego. It will be the first All-Star game for Quintana, who is 7-8 with a 3.21 ERA, sixth best in the American League.

Olympics:

Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas will both be flying down to Rio. Biles, the three-time world gymnastics champion, secured her spot on the U.S. Olympic team with a near flawless tour of the SAP Center last night. Douglas, the defending Olympic champion who's been struggling recently, finished third on uneven bars. Also on the women's team: Aly Raisman (AL'-ee RAYS'-mihn), Madison Kocian (KOH'-shun) and Laurie Hernandez.

Needham, Massachusetts, gymnast Aly Raisman is headed to her second Olympic games. Raisman gained one of the five U.S. team spots for the Rio Olympics at the gymnastics trials in California after finishing third in the all-around. She won three medals at the 2012 games in London.

Rickie Fowler and Patrick Reed have committed to play golf for the United States at the Olympics. The US is waiting for word from Jordan Spieth on whether he'll compete in Rio next month. His decision is expected Monday.

LPGA:

Brittany Lang benefited from a penalty assessed to Anna Norqvist in a playoff to win the U.S. Women's Open by three shots. Nordqvist touched the sand with her club in a bunker for a two-stroke penalty on the second extra hole, but the players weren't told of the decision until they were on the next hole. Lang was 6 under in capturing her first major championship.

Soccer:

Substitute Eder rocketed a right-footed shot past the outstretch arm of diving goalie Hugo Lloris in extra time to lift Portugal to a 1-0 win over France in the Euro 2016 final. The Portuguese won their first championship despite being without captain and star Christiano Ronaldo. He was taken off on a stretcher in the 25th minute with a left knee injury.

NFL:

San Diego voters will decide in November on the Chargers' proposal to raise local hotel taxes for a downtown stadium and convention facility. If approved, the proposal could keep the team from moving to the Los Angeles area, where it has been approved by NFL ownership to join the Rams in a new stadium being built in Inglewood. Chargers chairman Dean Spanos expressed appreciation to the more than 110,000 people who signed petitions. The Union-Tribune reports the initiative would raise the city's tax on hotel stays from 12.5 percent to 16.5 percent to finance a $1.8 billion complex. The Chargers would contribute $650 million for the stadium portion.

WNBA:

In the WNBA, the Liberty bested San Antonio 75-65, Chicago won against Phoenix 100-95, the Sparks beat Washington 93-82, and Indiana defeated Seattle 93-82.

Cycling:

Dutch rider Tom Dumoulin is the winner of the ninth stage of the Tour de France, finishing up in a hailstorm. Defending champ Chris Froome held onto the overall leader's yellow jersey. Two-time champion Alberto Contador pulled out due to a fever midway through the stage.

F1:

Defending Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has won the British Grand Prix for his fourth win in five races. The 31-year-old Englishman came home 6.9 seconds in front of teammate Nico Rosberg. The win cut Rosberg's lead in the championship standings to four points.
