Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have surgery on his broken right collarbone, and that his season could be over.
Rodgers got hurt after throwing a roll-out pass in the first quarter of Sunday's 23-10 loss at Minnesota. The Packers said yesterday that the injury could force the All-Pro to miss the rest of the season.
Brett Hundley is now the starting quarterback, with Joe Callahan promoted from the practice squad to serve as the backup.
ALCS-YANKEES/ASTROS
The New York Yankees failed to get a hit in their last four turns at bat on Monday, but a victory was already in the bag.
Todd Frazier and Aaron Judge slammed three-run homers to support CC Sabathia as the Yankees ripped the Astros, 8-1 to get within two games to one in the American League Championship Series.
Frazier's second-inning blast came off Charlie Morton, who was tagged for seven runs over 3 2/3 innings. Morton's performance came after starter Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander combined to hold the Yankees to one run over 16 innings.
Morton was pulled just before Judge unloaded a blast that capped the Yankees' five-run fourth. New York managed just one base-runner the rest of the way, but it didn't matter after Sabathia held the Astros to three hits while striking out five over six shutout innings.
Adam Warren followed with two hitless innings of scoreless relief to keep the eight-run lead intact, allowing Yankees manager Joe Girardi to use slumping reliever Dellin Betances in the ninth. Betances was pulled after walking his first two hitters.
The Astros finally scored on a bases-loaded walk in the ninth, but Jose Altuve ended the game by grounding into a double play.
Game 4 is Tuesday at Yankee Stadium. Sonny Gray is slated to start for the Yanks on 11 days' rest. The Astros will go with Lance McCullers.
NLCS
The Dodgers and Cubs resume the National League Championship Series Tuesday in Chicago after the two teams enjoyed a day off.
Yu Darvish will start for the Dodgers in Game 3 against Kyle Hendricks as the Cubs try to get back in the series.
Los Angeles took the first two games at home, winning 5-2 before Justin Turner's walk-off homer gave the Dodgers a 4-1 victory on Sunday night.
NFL SCHEDULE-TITANS/COLTS
The Tennessee Titans finally have a victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
The Titans scored two touchdowns over the final 5:29 to get a 36-22 win against their AFC South rival. Marcus Mariota hit Taywan Taylor for a 53-yard TD to break a 22-all tie and end Tennessee's 11-game losing streak to Indianapolis.
Mariota was 23 of 32 for 306 yards, one touchdown and one interception for the 3-3 Titans. He also carried twice for no yards as he refrained from running to protect his injured hamstring.
Derrick Henry clinched the win for Tennessee with a 72-yard TD run in the final minute. The 2015 Heisman Trophy winner finished with a career-high 131 yards on 19 carries.
Ryan Succop hit five field goals for Tennessee.
Jacoby Brissett tried to rally the Colts to a second straight overtime following the Taylor touchdown. But Titans linebacker Wesley Woodyard forced Brissett out of bounds shy of the first down marker on fourth-and-inches with 2:19 left.
Brissett threw for 212 yards and one TD for the 2-4 Colts.
NFL-COWBOYS-ELLIOTT SUSPENSION
Ezekiel Elliott's legal team is ready to resume its fight to overturn his six-game suspension over domestic violence allegations.
A person with direct knowledge of the situation says attorneys for Dallas Cowboys running back are set for an emergency hearing in federal court in New York. The person says the lawyers have filed a request for a temporary restraining order and will get a hearing Tuesday in the Southern District of New York.
Last year's NFL rushing leader is suspended for Sunday's game at San Francisco after a federal appeals court overturned an injunction that had allowed him to play this season.

— Linebacker NaVorro Bowman has agreed to a one-year, $3 million contract with the Raiders. Bowman was released by the 49ers at his request Friday after seven-plus seasons with the team. He is joining a team that needs some help after four straight losses have turned the Raiders from a potential Super Bowl contender into a last-place team at 2-4.
— Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he thinks NFL players should stop protesting during the national anthem. The Republican former presidential hopeful sent a letter Monday to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith saying he believes players are showing disrespect for the flag and veterans. Walker says players should drop the "divisive political sideshow" and speak out against domestic violence instead.

LeBron James' playing status for Tuesday's season opener against Boston remains unclear.
James has been slowed by a sprained left ankle for more than two weeks and it's still not known whether he'll be on the floor when the Cavaliers take on the Celtics and Kyrie Irving, who asked to be traded by Cleveland this summer.
James took part in some post-practice shooting drills with teammates Monday. He didn't speak with the media as the Cavaliers prepared for their opener, a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference finals.
James has never missed an opener in his NBA career, and teammate J.R. Smith doesn't expect him to miss this one.

— The Spurs and forward LaMarcus Aldridge have reached an agreement that adds another three years to his contract. A person with knowledge of the agreement tells The Associated Press that Aldridge will exercise the $22 million player option on his contract for the 2018-19 season and will get another two years and $50 million tacked on. Aldridge averaged 17.3 points and 7.3 rebounds a game last season.
— Jazz guard Dante Exum will have surgery next week to repair the left shoulder he separated during an Oct. 6 preseason game against the Suns. Exum averaged 6.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists last season.
— The Grizzlies have waived former first-round pick Wade Baldwin IV and kept veterans Mario Chalmers and Andrew Harrison on their roster. Baldwin played just 33 games last season after being taken with the 17th pick in the 2016 draft.
NHL-LIGHTNING/RED WINGS
The Tampa Bay Lightning continued their strong start just six months after missing the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Nikita Kucherov scored twice and the Lightning improved to 5-1-0 with a 3-2 win at Detroit. Kucherov snapped a 2-2 tie with his seventh goal of the season, beating Jimmy Howard on a deflection early in the third period.
Tyler Johnson also scored and Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 29 shots in Tampa Bay's fourth consecutive win.
Justin Abdelkader and Mike Green scored in the second period for the Red Wings, who wiped out a 2-0 deficit before falling to 4-2-0.
NHL-SENATORS-KARLSSON
Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson will make his season debut Tuesday against the visiting Canucks.
Senators coach Guy Boucher has confirmed his captain's return to the lineup.
Karlsson missed Ottawa's first five games of the season after undergoing offseason surgery to fix tendons in his left foot. He had 71 points in 74 games last season, and added 18 points in 19 games during the Senators' run to the Eastern Conference final.
COLLEGE CORRUPTION-LOUISVILLE
Louisville's Athletic Association has officially fired coach Rick Pitino nearly three weeks after the school acknowledged that its men's basketball program is being investigated as part of a federal corruption probe.
The move officially ends Pitino's 16-year tenure with the program, a run that included winning the 2013 NCAA championship but was tarnished by several embarrassing off-court incidents.
The association on Oct. 2 authorized university interim President Greg Postel to begin the process of firing Pitino for cause after Postel placed him on unpaid administrative leave Sept. 27. Pitino isn't named in court complaints in the federal probe, but Postel said in a disciplinary letter that the allegations violated his contract.
GOLF-WOODS
Tiger Woods apparently is a step closer to returning to competition.
His agent says the former world No. 1 golfer has been cleared by doctors to practice without limitations. Mark Steinberg says Woods received a good report from doctors who performed fusion surgery on his lower back in April. Steinberg says Woods plans to take it cautiously and added they haven't discussed playing tournaments.
Woods has not played since withdrawing from the Dubai Desert Classic on Feb. 3 because of back spasms. He had his fourth back surgery two months later.
