Albany Pro Musica will perform J.S. Bach's Mass in B minor on April 28 at 3 p.m. at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. They will be joined by renowned guest soloists and experts in historically informed performance who play in period-instrument orchestras such as the Handel + Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, Apollo’s Fire, Trinity Baroque, and others.Albany Pro Musica’s current season marks Maestro José Daniel Flores-Caraballo’s 10th anniversary with APM. Albany Pro Musica will present the Capital Region premiere of "Star Song" by Bradley Ellingboe, APM’s composer-in-residence on March 5th at 3 PM at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. This work bridges historical periods, languages, and faith traditions and examines the idea that we are all, in the words of Carl Sagan, “made of star stuff.” We get a preview this morning with Opalka Family Artistic Director of APM José Daniel Flores-Caraballo and composer Bradley Ellingboe.

Albany Pro Musica will be presenting an amazing work sung in Russian, Rachmaninoff's "All-Night Vigil" on Sunday, March 6 at 3 p.m. at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. While long planned, the concert is now being presented as a statement in solidarity for the Ukrainian people. Rachmaninoff’s “All Night Vigil,” often referred to as “Vespers,” is one of the most celebrated choral works of all time and is beloved for its profound beauty and spirituality. The concert will open with wonderful Russian music for piano and violin, featuring guest violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn playing the famed “Red Mendelssohn” Stradivarius. We welcome Albany Pro Musica’s Artistic Director José Daniel Flores-Caraballo. He is a widely acclaimed conductor and musical director recognized for his artistry and integrity in stylistic performance of choral literature.
