Empire Training Center for the Arts is a new vocational venture operating out of The Chance Theatre on Main Street in Poughkeepsie, New York.Their first major fundraising event in Poughkeepsie is coming up on March 15. The Dirty Dutchess: An Evening of Vaudeville, Burlesque and Broadway is directed by Peter Flynn. Flynn is a New York based director, writer and educator and he joins us now - along with Empire Training Center for the Arts Co-Founder and Executive Director Trish Santini.

Tomorrow night, Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs, New York presents “An Evening with Tituss Burgess.Burgess is a marvelous singer and hilarious actor - with range in more ways than one. His Broadway credits include “Good Vibrations,” “Jersey Boys,” “Guys and Dolls,” and “Moulin Rouge!” In 2008, he originated the role of Sebastian in the Broadway adaptation of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.”As for TV: We’ll start with an early credit: a recurring role as D’Fwan on NBC’s “30 Rock.”Burgess then bodied and embodied Titus Andromedon on Netflix’s “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” Andromedon was a talented - though entitled and mostly unmotivated - performer and roommate to Ellie Kemper’s title character. Since breaking out (ahem) on "Unbreakable," Burgess’ career as an on-screen actor, voice actor and host has thrived.

The Tony Award winning musical "Six" just celebrated 3 years on Broadway this October having opened on October 3, 2021 at the Lena Horne Theater. Olivia Donalson is thrilled to be returning to Broadway this time with the queendom. She was last seen as Anna of Cleves on the first National Tour of "Six" and before that was in the Broadway company of Disney’s "Aladdin."

“The Hills of California,” a new play by Jez Butterworth and directed by Sam Mendes, is running on Broadway at The Broadhurst Theatre through December 22. Helena Wilson is making her Broadway debut in the show - and she performed in the original production on The West End earlier this year.

“The Notebook” is a 3x Tony nominated musical based on the bestselling novel written by Nicolas Sparks. The story follows Allie and Noah who are from different worlds yet share a lifetime of love despite forces trying to pull them apart, the story portrays the enduring power of love. Broadway actress Aisha Jackson has recently taken on the role of Middle Allie in "The Notebook" at the Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City.

On May 17, prolific singer/songwriter and feminist icon Ani DiFranco released a new record “Unprecedented Sh!t” on her label Righteous Babe Records.

The book "The Tony Awards: A Celebration of Excellence in Theatre" pays tribute to the magic that happens when the curtain goes up and Broadway's best and brightest step onto center stage.

“Suffs” stars book writer, composer, and lyricist Shaina Taub, is directed by Leigh Silverman, and is produced by Jill Furman, Rachel Sussman, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Malala Yousafzai. Ally Bonino is making her Broadway debut as Lucy Burns in “Suffs” - having originated the role at off-Broadway at The Public in 2022.

“Back to the Future: The Musical” adaptation of the beloved 1985 film is currently running at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre, at The Adelphi Theatre on the West End in London, and the North American Tour will have its first performances at Proctors in Schenectady, New York June 6-8.
