The Roeliff-Jansen Community Library in Hillsdale, New York - and serving Hillsdale and its surrounding communities of Ancram and Copake - is currently home to 15 stunning collage portraits of suffragists created by artist Lynne Perrella.From legendary leaders to anonymous advocates, the featured women are linked by their commitment to attaining Votes for Women. The collage works are further inspired by quilts and display vibrantly colorful and interwoven designs which interpret each woman's life and passions.“Threads of History: Suffragette Portraits and Quilts in Mixed Media” will be on view at The Roeliff-Jansen Community Library in Hillsdale, New York through October 31.

The exhibition ”Mystery and Wonder: Highlights from the Illustration Collection” opened March 2 at Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. Norman Rockwell Museum Chief Curator Stephanie Plunkett and featured artists Teresa Fasolino and Joan Hall join us to tell us more.

Through his print-based collages and sculptures, Yashua Klos explores the intersections among the human form, natural elements, the built environment, and social hierarchies. His practice employs a process of collaging woodblock prints to engage ideas about Blackness and maleness as identities that are both fragmented and constructed.His recent work takes on personal histories of race, identity, and familial ties. For the exhibition Yashua Klos: OUR LABOUR, curated by Johnson-Pote Director at The Wellin, Tracy Adler, the artist is creating an entirely new body of site-responsive collages and sculptures, and collaborating with Hamilton College students on a large-scale, collage-based wall installation at the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY through June 12.
