Retaliatory Tariffs

The New York Farm Bureau this week released its national legislative priorities, targeting legislation it says would help New York’s farmers and rural communities.

The Liberal Party of Canada has chosen Mark Carney as its new leader and, as the party in power, will swear him in as the country’s new Prime Minister of Canada. The election came as a surprise and interests north and south of the border are curious to see how Carney responds to the escalating trade war with the U.S.

Premier Doug Ford says Ontario will impose a surcharge on electricity purchased by Minnesota, Michigan and New York in response to 25 percent tariffs imposed on Canada by the Trump Administration.
