Known for her incredible research bestselling author Jodi Picoult brings to life the incomparable Emilia Bassano, the real-life and “too little considered” English poet believed to have authored many of Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets. Picoult’s new novel is “By Any Other Name.”

Vermont Public Theater will be presenting an outdoor free presentation of Shakespeare in the Woods production of “Twelfth Night” at Merchants Park in Downtown Bennington, Vermont. The night is a Fundraiser for Bennington County Coalition for the Homeless. The family friendly production of “Twelfth Night” will be performed outside, rain or shine at 2 p.m. on Sunday August 25.

James Ijames is a playwright, director, and educator. His play “Fat Ham” opened at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway last night. Ijames won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize in Drama for the work which is inspired by Shakespeare’s "Hamlet" but transfers the action to a family barbecue in the American South.The main character, Juicy, is a queer college kid, already grappling with some serious questions of identity, when the ghost of his father shows up in their backyard, demanding that Juicy avenge his murder.“Fat Ham,” a New York Times Critics Pick, is directed by Saheem Ali and is presented by The Public Theatre and National Black Theatre.

Writer-director Keith Boynton’s film “The Scottish Play” is a humorous and exciting take on Shakespeare’s centuries of influence, and the passion creators and artists share for him.
