As morning frost tickles the valley areas of the Northeast, there has also been occasional snowfall in the higher elevations and that is piquing interest in the upcoming ski season.

The first snow has fallen across the region and ski areas are ramping up to open their slopes within a few weeks.

Despite variants and the lingering pandemic, ski areas across Vermont say the winter season brought more visitors to the slopes.

Ski resorts in the Northeast are more optimistic about the upcoming winter as they begin planning for a season with less restrictive COVID regulations. But most resorts plan to require masks when visitors are indoors.
