The Rutland, Vermont Board of Aldermen has approved a Letter of Intent to apply to the state for a Tax Increment Financing, or TIF, district.

For 20 years, the city of Winooski, Vermont has been implementing its Downtown Redevelopment Project using Tax Increment Financing. City and state officials gathered Wednesday in the downtown to celebrate how the downtown has changed.

Vermont Governor Phil Scott was in Winooski this morning to celebrate the pending closure of the city’s 20-year TIF district.

The Burlington, Vermont City Council reviewed redistricting and charter changes on Monday.
