Pittsfield, MA – A bicyclist in the Berkshires has been confirmed dead after being struck by a school bus Monday morning. WAMC's Patrick Donges has more...

According to the Berkshire Eagle, 63-year-old Pittsfield resident Everett Clark was riding against traffic in the westbound lane of the city's East Street at around 7:45 a.m. Monday when he was struck by a school bus driven by 44-year-old Catherine Collins as she attempted turn onto the street.

Clark was pronounced dead after being treated at the scene and transported to Berkshire Medical Center. Westbound traffic on the street was detoured for about three hours as officials assessed and cleared the scene.

Despite witness accounts that Collins stopped at a stop sign before making the turn, police said the incident remains under investigation as of Monday afternoon.

No children were on the bus at the time of the accident.
