The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund recently released its mid-year report on officer deaths. The report shows 67 law enforcement officials in the United States have died in the line of duty since the start of 2014, a 31 percent increase from the same period last year. There were 25 firearm-related fatalities, five of which resulted from ambush scenarios.Steve Groeninger, the non-profit’s senior director of communications, spoke with WAMC’s Berkshire Bureau Chief Jim Levulis.
