The Adirondack Thunder has tapped a new head coach from within its ranks. On Wednesday, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils named Alex Loh head coach and director of hockey operations.
Having been an assistant and associate coach with the Thunder for its first three seasons, the 33-year-old Vermont native says he is looking forward to leading the Glens Falls-based team.
“You go to other markets that have more people in the area and they can’t fill the building halfway,” Loh said at a press conference. “You came here and even other teams will remark to us on how exciting it is to come here and play.”
Loh takes over for Brad Tapper, who joined the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League earlier this year.
